The Enjoyment of my Lawn

Hi friends,

So the other day I was visiting my dad who now lives a twenty minute drive from me down in Valley Ridge. Gorgeous place, golf courses that cut through it and way too many people that run out in front of cars as though it is their mission to be hit. I wonder if they are sometimes asking for it. There was a man that was running down the foot path a little in front of me, and it's hard to miss a blue car coming your way as you can both hear it and see it (well, lets hope) and the little man popped out of no where, he might have bloody apparated there and turned to see me with a surprised expression on his face. I obviously stopped though I was tempted to swerve around him and keep on my merry way. I was thinking "Yes wee man, just run in the path of an oncoming car! If this were Europe... man'd be dead"

Anyway! I keep driving and park up outside his drive way and we start talking. He has been issued a warning from the Valley Ridge Estate and the City of Calgary because his lawn was "unkempt". The grass is a little long, but the only way the City of Calgary would be able to send something to him was if a neighbor complained... a neighbor. My dad is now suspicious of everyone. Upon seeing the letter my dad burst into a fit of outrage and quoted part of it for my benefit. He wanted to find out who had complained, but didn't bother. Drafting up a letter that he thought would remedy this situation, he thought if he complained back to them they could do something about:
1. "The woman living across from me is unsightly, this detracts from the enjoyment of my lawn."
2. "The couple next to me own wind chimes, this detracts from the enjoyment of my lawn."
3. "The people living across the way hold barbecues an frequently burn the food, this detracts from the enjoyment of my lawn."
4. "The children that live with the unsightly woman are a nuisance, this detracts from the enjoyment of my lawn."
Needless to say, the City of Calgary wouldn't be too pleased, nor would they be able to do much about it. He was thinking of sending them in individually, but thought better of it.
