You know that recently, I have decided that I would like to start reading a lot of books over the course of the summer, mainly because I love stories and like to be else where for a while, its honestly why I read. A friend of mine all but shoved White Oleander in my face before I got home and demand that I read it. Upon finding out that it was on Oprahs list of books, I knew that this book would be interesting and hard to find. Sure enough, I walk into the Library and ask for the book to find out that they are all rented out apart from one in the NE, and I'll be damned if yall think that I'm going that far for a book. I put it on hold along with a few key others such as My Name is Mary Sutter and What is Left, The Daughter and waited. I got a call from the library (I love how they let you know that your holds are in) which told me that I should get up to the library and take them out. I used their new checkout machines and in regular fashion; fucked up.
The instructions were hard understand as it wanted me to place my card in the slot, drag one book at a time across this black plate thingy and scan it whilst in movement, but don't go too fast or it will make this obnoxious "bleep" sound at you which causes people to stare... they all stared at me as the machine kept on bleeping incessantly. I looked around for help and saw some old woman looking at me as though I were stupid. In that moment, I'm not gonna lie, I felt a little out of sorts over something that I simply should be understanding without difficulty. Under pressure I managed to grab my books that I scanned and marched out of the library, successful in my adventure to the library. Who knew that visiting a library could be so hard?
Anyway, this means that I am down to 35 more books this summer!
I'm going to read What is Left, The Daughter next I think, I'll get cracking tonight.
See you with another update,
F.F
